Decoys are one of the most popular methods to hunt wild ducks. It is best to use live decoys birds. Set them up far from your blind so that you can easily see them. Windy conditions are a bad time to hunt as the birds can quickly disappear. Also, if there are several hunters around, they might scare off some of the birds.

When hunting wild ducks, make sure you know how many birds you want to shoot. You shouldn't shoot if you don't know the type of bird you are shooting. It is important to have enough ammunition in your arsenal to shoot as many birds as possible.

If you do end up killing a lot of birds, you'll want to clean and prepare the meat before eating. It is best not to wait until the meat is done cooking. Once the meat is cooked remove all bones and feathers.

Wild ducks can often be found close to water. However, they may also be seen flying through fields and woods. Their flight patterns are more open than others, and they can be easily spotted from the ground. Keep your distance from wild duck hunters until you are close enough to take a shot. This means staying quiet and still while waiting for a chance to shoot.
